Brave Ukrainian elderly couple confront Russian soldiers who barged into their house. Watch viral video

It has been over two weeks since Russia invaded Ukraine, forcing millions of Ukrainian citizens to flee the country. Amid the war, a video showing the grit and courage of an elderly Ukrainian couple has surfaced online.

The clip was posted on Twitter by the official handle of the US Embassy in Kyiv and has gone viral online with over two lakh views.

The CCTV footage shows a few armed Russian soldiers barging into the house of the elderly couple. They even fire a shot to threaten them to come out of their house. After hearing the commotion, the elderly couple come outside and confront the three soldiers.

The footage further shows the argument heating up as one of the soldiers again fires a shot in the air. However, after a short conversation, the soldiers leave the property.

The viral clip prompted a wave of reactions from netizens, who took to the comments section to express them.

“Wow the bravery of this elderly couple to stand up to 3? 4 Russian Soldiers! Their property meant more to them than their own lives!” a user wrote.

Another user commented, “I agree that the soldiers were also decent and didn’t fire on the couple. Shows they don’t want to fight war either. They are pawns in Putin’s hands. The couple are just amazing and so inspiring.”
