While Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet are no longer together, they remain close friends. With Jason Momoa in the picture, people have always wonder how Kravitz accepted the actor. Now, Kravitz is letting people know how much Momoa means to him.
A Birthday Hangout
Momoa recently celebrated his 41st birthday with the people closest to him. On Instagram, Kravitz posted a photo of himself and Momoa hanging out with the caption, “Happy Birthday. One family. One love.” As expected, people on social media couldn’t believe the two men were together in the same room. Instagram user rileyriz caught Kravitz attention by saying, “I know it probably wasnt/isnt always easy. But I love and respect that you two men get along gracefully.” In response, Kravitz said, “Easy and beautiful from the first moment. Blessed!”
Always Been Love
Momoa and Kravitz have always openly shared love for one another. In an interview with The Times, Kravitz talked about his relationship with Bonet. When it came to Momoa, Kravitz sees him as an important part of his life. “Our families are blended. I love her husband—he’s like a brother to me—and I love the kids. It’s beautiful, but it takes work,” Kravitz told The Times.
In December 2018, Momoa was riding high with the release of Aquaman in theaters. During this time, Momoa gained a hosting gig on Saturday Night Live. Momoa invited Kravitz to the show and delivered a special present for the rock star. “I’m a huge fan of the artists I meet on Instagram love spreading the aloha,” Momoa wrote on Instagram. “I got @lennykravitz a present made by @leroyswoodentattoos amazing bone skull ring. Check him out insta. Mahalo lenny for coming to support me on @nbcsnl aloha j.”
A Glorious Couple
Momoa and Benet first met back in 2005 through the help of mutual friends. Being a fan of The Cosby Show, Momoa was already smitten by Benet. On July 21, 2007, the pair introduced their first child Lola Iolani into the world. Four months later, Momoa and Benet tied the knot inside their home in Topanga, California. Kravitz and Benet’s daughter Zoe attended the wedding ceremony. Kravitz was finishing up his North American tour around that time, so he couldn’t attend. Over one year after their marriage, Momoa and Benet welcomed their second child Nakoa-Wolf on December 15, 2008.
Not Enough Time
Since ending things with Benet, Kravitz hasn’t had much luck in the relationship department. Following a four-year relationship with Vanessa Paradis, Kravitz started dating Adriana Lima in 2001. The following year, the pair were engaged, but they called it off in 2003. After Lima, Kravitz dated Nicole Kidman for a year.
Kravitz hasn’t been attached to anyone since Kidman. With a hefty touring schedule, he’s been too busy for love. In a 2019 interview with People, Kravitz admitted his music has made things difficult. “I would really like [to find love]. But it’s difficult for me, being so dedicated to my art. Which is not an excuse, it’s just difficult … I’m nowhere or I’m everywhere,” Kravitz told People. Outside of music, Kravitz has gained acting roles in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and Star. Kravitz also embarked on a design company titled Kravitz Design Inc.
Despite the breakups, Kravitz believes he’s doesn’t need a relationship to define him. The musician is having the time of his life performing in front of thousands of people a night around the world. While the coronavirus has shut things down temporarily, Kravitz will be busy working on some new music. When Kravitz does find love again, Momoa and Bonet will be there to congratulate him.
